Meet BAVC Media Student Danielle Bezalel!Â
Danielle Bezalel graduated from UC Berkeley (go bears!) in 2014 with a degree in Film and Media and a minor in Education. She's passionate about making media that matters, singing on stage with her band Happnstance, eating lots of chocolate, traveling the world, getting fit, and cracking jokes with her 18 year old brother. We Are SF: Pathways To Citizenship
At the Bay Area Video Coalition, much of our work is to share diverse stories through art, education, and technology. For this reason, we are especially excited about the work being done by BAVC Media Productions in collaboration with the California Arts Council and San Francisco Office of Civic Engagement & Immigrant Affairs (OCEIA). OCEIA offers a series of free citizenship workshops as part of its San Francisco Pathways to Citizenship Initiative. SF Stories: A Shared Experience RSN – Jamie
With support from the James Irvine Foundation's Exploring Engagement Fund, BAVC Media collaborated with RSN to provide storytelling workshops to San Francisco-based individuals who might not otherwise have the opportunity to tell their personal, important stories. The workshops, called SF Stories: A Shared Experience, teach participants the technical and creative tools for creating a digital story on their own from start to finish.
SF Stories: A Shared Experience – Rebel
With support from the James Irvine Foundation, BAVC Media is working with local social service agencies to provide a series of digital storytelling workshops: SF Stories. Workshop participants learn digital storytelling from start to finish, and completing three-minute digital stories for exhibition on public access television, the Web and in non-traditional exhibition spaces. Our first workshop was a collaboration with partner organization the Recovery Survival Network and the San Francisco Sheriff's Department and was offered inside the San Bruno County Jail. This is participant Ronald Horne's story.
