Veronica Hale is an award-winning director known for her evocative storytelling, bold visual style, and ability to craft deeply human narratives within genre films. Born in Chicago and raised on a steady diet of classic horror and ‘70s New Hollywood cinema, she honed her craft at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts before breaking into the industry as a music video director.
Her breakout feature, Glass House (2015), a surreal psychological thriller, premiered at Sundance and cemented her reputation as a visionary filmmaker. She followed up with Red Sky Morning (2018), a genre-bending neo-noir that earned her a Best Director nomination at the Independent Spirit Awards.
A fierce advocate for women in film, Hale co-founded the Radial Lens Initiative, a mentorship program supporting underrepresented voices in the industry. She is currently in post-production on Hollow Valley, a sci-fi horror film exploring AI and memory, set for release in 2026.
When she’s not behind the camera, Hale can be found restoring vintage film prints, collecting obscure vinyl soundtracks, or getting lost in the California desert with her dog, Bowie.
