San Francisco's Iconic Non-Profit Cinema
We are looking for individuals who are capable of supporting New People Cinema (in Japantown at 1746 Post St, San Francisco, CA 94115) operations through box office, house management, and/or projection. They help maintain clean facilities, such as the lobby and auditorium, alongside other building staff members. In any given shift, staff may work box office, house management, or digital projection.
This is a seasonal position from Mid-September to December 2026 (exact dates and times to be determined) with possibility to extend. You must be available to work weekly from Thursdays to Sundays. This position is approximately 20 to 25 hours per week. The compensation pay rate for New People staff is $24.45/hour.Â
This role would be employed under The Roxie Theater, an Equal Opportunity employer.
Qualifications:
- Have 1-3 years of cash handling and customer service experience. Having experience as a key holder is a plus!
- Can work a closing shift and be independent.
- Comfortable and willing to learn/troubleshoot digital projection (including blu-rays, DCPs, multiple file formats, basics of AV equipment).
- Can commit to working Thursday through Sunday.
- Are efficient, flexible, trustworthy, and reliable.
- Are effective communicators.
- Have a passion for independent cinema.
