San Francisco, CA — Bay Area Video Coalition (BAVC Media) is pleased to announce that Jason Hanasik and Leah Nichols are the 2018-2019 Residents for BAVC Media’s relaunched Residency program, made possible through support from the San Francisco Film Commission. Building on the success of BAVC Media’s Artist-in-Residence program, the present iteration of the Residence program provides Bay Area independent media makers with the space and resources necessary for developing creative work. QCTools Version 1.0 Press Release

San Francisco, CA - Bay Area Video Coalition (BAVC Media) and the QCTools development team are announcing the release of version 1.0 of QCTools, an open-source application developed to help media archivists in assessing and analyzing the quality of their digitized video content. Celebrating BAVC Media’s Next Gen Youth Program

Throughout the year Next Gen students built a fun and supportive community where they learned new technical skills, met industry professionals, earned college credit, and discussed social justice issues all while creating media related to topics they are passionate about. From video artists to unique regional collections, the group is representative of the wide variety of artists and institutions this unique program serves.
