This month's topic: Creative Career Pathways and What Makes a Good Design Portfolio

A Q&A session with BAVC’s Workforce Development Lead, Annie Tahtinen, we’ll hear from Jessica about her experiences building a career as a creative in advertising and her transition to “client side” as a Creative Lead at Salesforce. We’ll talk about skills she looks for in her teams and what kinds of portfolios catch her eye.

Space is limited. RSVP by Friday, October 13th.

About Jessica:

Originally from Texas, the child of an art professor and a chemical engineer, Jessica was either going to become a brilliant geologist or an artist. When she was told that geologists only work on oil fields and have to do math, she thought advertising might be a better choice. Jessica is currently creative lead at Salesforce where over the past two and a half years her team has created the first award-winning work for the department and helped earn the brand its first spot on Interbrand’s top 100 global brands. Prior to joining Salesforce, she worked at agencies such as JWT, AKQA, Mekanism, Engine Company 1, and Swirl, creating work for clients such as, Nestle, Kraft, eBay, Microsoft, Ticketmaster and local favorites like the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Peet’s Coffee. Her passions lie in reinventing brands through strategic storytelling, innovation, humanity and humor. She holds a BA in Advertising from Southern Methodist University and a Certificate in Art Direction from Miami Ad School.

We look forward to you joining us!
