Calling all Bay Area youth filmmakers!  BAVC's Next Generation programs are partnering with Firefox Flicks video-making competition to engage young filmmakers ages 13-19 in bringing Mozilla’s mission to life through film.

BAVC has assembled a panel of youth judges who will rank your entries. Videos with the highest votes will be showcased at Mozilla’s Firefox Flick event at the San Francisco International Film Festival.  Additionally, the first place winner will receive $500, the second place $300 and the third place winner will receive $200.  Winning youth entries will also receive international exposure through Mozilla’s Facebook and Twitter channels.

Entries must be submitted by May 1st for consideration.  We encourage you to submit early so your Flick has a chanced to be viewed at the Mozilla party in conjunction with the San Francisco International Film Festival on April 25.  To learn more about Firefox Flicks and for official contest rules, please visit: www.firefoxflicks.org.

BAVC’s Next Generation programs offer a flexible pathway for youth who may lack support systems and the extra-curricular and leadership opportunities that can help to teach and reaffirm technology, learning and communication skills. Our programs help young people develop their artistic talent while providing them with advanced, industry-standard training in new media and helping them develop the “soft” skills necessary to successfully collaborate on and produce a high-quality creative product.
