Come meet the creators of IndieGoGo and ReelChanges as they demo their new web portals and share tools that will make it easier for you to fundraise online for your media project.

Indiegogo is a Bay Area-based online social marketplace connecting filmmakers and fans to make independent film happen. Founded by Haas Business School students Danae Ringelman and Slava Rubin, the platform provides filmmakers the tools for project funding, recruiting, and promotion, while enabling the audience to discover and connect directly with filmmakers and the causes they support. They will demo the site, show you how to use the tools available to take your film project to the next level. (www.indiegogo.com).

Reel Changes is the brainchild of documentary producer and educator Yoav Potash. At ReelChanges filmmakers will be able to upload their trailers, demos, and other excerpts from their films, as well as their personal bios, narrative descriptions, and other materials that typically go into a documentary film proposal. The general public will visit the site and be able to make tax-deductible contributions to directly support the films they choose. The service is a nonprofit which operates at no cost to the filmmaker and does not take any percentage of donations.

As a member, you are a part of an organization with 25 years of experience connecting independent media professionals, students, and job seekers with the tools, training and connections that make their work possible.

Membership benefits also include:

  • Member discounts for resources you need to make media
  • Regular networking events and screenings
