As our society changes, the skills needed to succeed in our world change as well. NET Standards and 21st Century skills have been identified as skills needed to negociate our increasingly complex society. Descriptions of both standards are included in this section. 21st Century SkillsResearchers have identified a host of skills that today’s students need to succeed. Next Gen staff work with an external evaluator, Rockman Et Al., to ensure that our students are learning these skills. Please see the list of 21st Century Skills included in this section. Among the various assessment tools we have developed are the Video Rubric, used in the Rough Cut and Final Cut Panel Review Process, and the Director’s Statements, pieces written by students explaining their process as they developed their projects . You can find examples of The Video Rubric, the Beginning Director’s Statements, and the Advanced Director’s Statements in this section. NET StandardsThe International Society for Technology in Education has created The National Technology Standards Project. The NETS Project is developing standards to guide educational leaders in recognizing and addressing the essential conditions for effective use of technology to support Pre K-12 education. At the end of each lesson which directly addresses these NET Standards, the NET standards the lesson directly addresses is indicated. Please also refer to the chart in this section which indicates the NET standards and the lessons which fulfill them. Documents for Reference:
