Much like the mighty free safety*, Operations Manager Jenn Olivia unequivocally holds the BAVC team together and defends us against enemy plays. We sat her down for the WHAT I DO interview to hear about the good, the bad, and the HVAC.

In the new WHAT I DO interview series, we sideline BAVC Digital Pathways Audio Instructor Chris Runde.

Chris is a quiet storm. When not teaching digital audio to youth during the school year, he brings a dignified élan to the office every single day. We decided to sit him down for a heart-to-heart G-Chat about what makes him tick. Turns out, it can be found in the Whole Foods deli case.

Factory
Monday, 02 August 2010

The Factory held its year-end screening on Tuesday, August 24th at the Pacific Film Artchive on the UC-Berkeley campus. The event featured the collected work from the past school year and summer: more than a dozen documentary, narrative and experimental films, many of which have already screened to acclaim around the country. The Factory year-end show also provided an opportunity to premiere the three documentaries that Factory youth made this summer while in partnership with East Bay non-profit organizations. Representatives from these three organizations - The Edible Schoolyard, Baypeace, and The Hatlen Center for the Blind - will all be in attendance at the event.

The screening will also provide an opportunity for BAVC's NextGen program to distribute copies of its newly-printed "Best of NextGen DVD," a compliation of the best films from the last seven years of youth programming.
