"The Weather Underground" follows the rise and fall of the group of young
women and men of the same name who tried to violently overthrow the American
government during the 1960s and 70s.
"Brother
Outsider" is a feature length documentary about the life of Bayard
Rustin, a tireless civil rights activist and the organizer of the
1963 March on Washington.
Banished, directed by Marco Williams, received the 2006 BAVC MediaMaker
Advance Award. The film had its world premiere at Sundance in January
2007 and most recently won the $25,000 Knight Grand Jury Prize at the
Miami International Film Festival.
BAVC’s Creative Suite C was briefly home to the ITVS funded project “Tulia, Texas,”
a documentary about one of the biggest drug stings in Texas history,
and the civil liberties fallout after the bust. The team needed to
color correct, lay the show off to tape master, and ensure a PBS
technical evaluation pass, all in a week’s time.
