BAVC's
Adult Scholarship program, MediaLink, is a unique, 16-week, immersion-style
training program that provides qualified San Francisco Bay Area residents
with an opportunity to experience educational and personal growth by learning
technical programming as it applies to media.
Skills acquired prepare the participant for an entry level,
foot-in-the-door position in a company hiring permanent or contract employees
with technical programming skills.

History:
Initially funded in 1997 by the San Francisco's Mayor's Office of
Community Development under a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG).
MediaLink's mission, in Mayor Brown's words, is to "help share the prosperity
of the multimedia industry with low-income residents." (Applicants must
be 18 years old, reside in the San Francisco Bay Area, and be eligible
to work in the U.S.)
