MediaLink

BAVC's Adult Scholarship program, MediaLink, is a unique, 16-week, immersion-style training program that provides qualified San Francisco Bay Area residents with an opportunity to experience educational and personal growth by learning technical programming as it applies to media.

Skills acquired prepare the participant for an entry level, foot-in-the-door position in a company hiring permanent or contract employees with technical programming skills.

What makes the Adult Scholarship worthwhile:

  • BPPVE Certified Training
  • Access to Professional Coaching
  • Training from Industry Professionals
  • Networking opportunities and industry contacts
  • The Alumni community
  • BAVC Membership
  • Web hosting for 1 year in the Graduate Gallery

History:

Initially funded in 1997 by the San Francisco's Mayor's Office of Community Development under a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). MediaLink's mission, in Mayor Brown's words, is to "help share the prosperity of the multimedia industry with low-income residents." (Applicants must be 18 years old, reside in the San Francisco Bay Area, and be eligible to work in the U.S.)

For information on the MediaLink program, send an email to scholarship@bavc.org.
