BAVC Productions: Factory alum working in the field

BAVC Productions is a filmmaking service performed for Bay Area clients by young filmmakers who have passed through one of BAVC's NextGen programs. It allows BAVC to support young people who are looking to establish themselves in the industry, while giving Bay Area organizations media production services at an affordable price.

It is crucial to our mission that young adults who pass through The Factory advanced filmmaking track, foresee a career in media production and have an opportunity to continue their relationship with BAVC after high school and into their college years.

The groundwork for BAVC Productions was laid when The Factory began a series of summer-intensive “Community Filmmaking Partnerships” for East Bay non-profits like City Slicker Farms and the San Francisco YMCA. These projects were so successful (winning 14 film festival awards in the past two years) that they created additional demand for the polished, professional work of our alumni.

BAVC Productions projects range in scope and style. Past projects include short PSAs filmed and edited in a few days, event videography, in-depth documentary profiles, and motion graphic videos for fundraising campaigns. For more information about the Fee for Service program, read the FAQ.

BAVC – what can I say? First, that working with BAVC was a gift at a time when I was handed a complex and challenging project, which they handled with grace and the utmost professionalism. Second, that  I cannot wait to work with the BAVC team again.
