Anais joined BUMP Records as a sixteen-year-old junior at Oakland School for the Arts . She learned about BUMP from a friend at OSA.
Anais is a native of Toulouse, France, and she lived in Ireland and Senegal before moving to California in the 8th grade. Her experience with radically different cultures and music has had a huge influence on Anais, giving her a unique global perspective and sound. Anais counts among her artist influences: India Arie, Jazmine
Sullivan, Jill Scott, Alicia Keyes, Leela James, Erykah Badu, Dahrio Wonder, Ella Fitzgerald, and Etta James among others.
BUMP gave Anais the time, space and experience to build her confidence and identity as an artist, work collaboratively on projects, and learn the behind-the-scenes work that goes into producing and distributing music.
Anais would say of BUMP, "It really helped me. It taught me how to love what I do and be confident about it. I think that is one of the biggest struggles ... to actually love what you're doing and be proud of it."
Anais has recently been accepted into the Clive Davis Department of Recorded Music at NYU where she will start this Fall.

once upon a time I woke up in a safe world
a place where drugs and cash weren't that all that mattered
respect would be full

Titled "Stand As One," the video, which includes an original song, was inspired by their study of women through the exhibition "Women, Power and Politics" by the International Museum of Women. This video is from the website of the Museum.
